Welcome to ONLS

June 2, 2026

Welcome to the Our Neighbourhood Living Society (ONLS). We’re very glad you’re here.

Whether you are new to the field or bringing years of experience, you are now part of a team that is deeply committed to supporting people to live full, meaningful lives in their communities. The work we do matters — every day, in real ways, for the individuals and families who trust us to walk alongside them.

At ONLS, our foundation is built on respect, inclusion, and human rights. We support people first as individuals — not diagnoses, not labels, not “services.” Your role is essential in helping people exercise choice, build relationships, develop skills, and live with dignity and belonging.

As you get started, here are a few things we want you to know:

  • People come first. Every decision we make should reflect the rights, preferences, and voices of the people we support.
  • You are part of a team. You are never alone in this work — supervisors, peers, and leadership are here to support you.
  • Learning is ongoing. We value growth, reflection, and continuous improvement in our practice.
  • Professionalism matters. Our actions, communication, and documentation reflect the quality of care and support we provide.
  • Well-being matters too. This work is meaningful and sometimes challenging. Take care of yourself and reach out when you need support.

We encourage you to explore the intranet, review key policies and training materials, and ask questions. Curiosity and openness are strengths here.

Most importantly, know that you were hired because we believe in your ability to contribute to this work. The relationships you build, the consistency you provide, and the respect you show will make a lasting difference.

On behalf of the entire ONLS community — welcome. We’re glad you chose to be here.
